Prenatal Lactation Consultation
A prenatal consult is perfect for first time parents wishing to learn more about what to expect during the first few months of breastfeeding their newborn. It is also great for mothers with past breastfeeding experiences that may have had struggles or issues with their nursing baby or milk production. We can also address any health concerns, both surgical and medical, you may have related to your lactation journey ahead. This visit includes:
•A comprehensive maternal history and breast assessment
•Answers to any questions related to breastfeeding or alternative feeding methods
•Discussion of previous breastfeeding issues and/or any health concerns,
•Discussion of feeding goals and creating a plan

Initial Lactation Consultation
The initial lactation consultation takes place after the birth of your baby in the comfort of your own home. A great time for this is during the first week of life to ensure breastfeeding is well established and your infant is well nourished. This can also take place anytime thereafter when any concerns may arise. This visit includes:
•A comprehensive maternal and infant history and assessment, discuss feeding goals
•An infant weight check, weighted feeding
•Observation and assessment of a breastfeeding, pumping, and/or bottle feeding session
•A pump flange fitting & observe pumping session
•Utilization of alternative feeding methods if needed
•Addressing nipple soreness & engorgement issues
•A collaborative care plan
1.5 hour visit

Follow up Lactation Consultation
The follow up consultation is available for those seeking additional support after their initial visit. This can ensure our lactation care plan is benefiting both you and your infant. This is also a great time to adjust your care plan, working together to make this a valuable and rewarding experience. This visit includes:
• A follow up to our initial consultation
•Reassessment of infant feeding and oral function
•An infant weight check, weighted feeding
•Addressing ongoing concerns/issues
•Adjusting your customized care plan
•Supporting ongoing feeding goals

All for Love Lactation serves Wylie, TX and surrounding areas. Depending on location a travel fee will be required.
